Newark receives Cash to Save Newark Sceens

The city of Newark has received an influx of cash to save a movie complex that has been struggling financially. NEDC Riverfront Corporation has pledged $650,000 to help Newark Screens. Newark Screens which sits on Newark ownded property. Newark Screens, a six-screen movie complex, is the city's only major movie theater and is considered an important part of the Central Ward. Earlier this month, the theater failed to pay 30 of its employees. Deputy Mayor Stefan Pryor said that the money will enable the theater to cover potential operating losses and to remain open until a new use is selected for the venue.
